Yeah, I popped in to Cheshire Oaks last night and there was nothing doing at all.
Luckily it's only a very short drive.
I don't wear Crocs, and I don't wear sandals/The pump don't work 'cause the vandals took the handles . . .

Thanks for all the well wishes! Its an engineering apprenticeship for stagecoach. Initially as a fitter ( can do all that standing on my head atm anyway) but ive been told if i show promise i could be fasttracked to the managing side of it. Fingers crossed i get it, im hating retail. If i dont get it im slightly screwed but ive always got a few tricks up my sleeve. Should know by early next week, ill let you all know how it pans out.

Cheers to that FC. My dad was hardcore man...87 years, and 70+ yrs of that was on Carlsberg and Heini's...stomach surgery 3x over his life as a result....he put em back like a good old lad - must've been influenced when he was in the UK and for sure in Holland...funny, but I'm actually considering a visit to the UK sometime next year...

Right then after a hot sweaty drive on the M1/A1 arrived at our holiday rental by the sea. Beautiful sandy beaches, secluded little village, lots of newcastle lads on a dey oot, but WIFI in the house and SSDB is back up.
Didn't bring my customs so will have to talk to the mrs of an evening.

Alnmouth... off to Dunstanburgh castle in a bit, walk along the beach to it.
Any suggestions gratefully accepted and vetted by the mrs.
Going to have to go to Holy Island and Bamburgh and some point.

There's certainly plenty castles up that way, some more idea's for you:

Alnwick Castle and gardens, it was used as Hogwarts Castle in the Harry Potter films.
Boat trip over to the Farne Islands.
Cragside House.
Hadrians Wall if you fancy a trip south.
For a some modern culture and shopping you could have a day in Newcastle.

Check the times for the tides coming back from Holy Island, many people get stranded for the night out there Very Happy
