It seems you're confusing classic and old. Classic in this sense is, by definition something noteworthy of its kind and worth remembering. Some shoes over twenty years old are classics, and some classics are over twenty years old, but not all classics are over twenty years old, and not all shoes over twenty years old are classics. Anyone feel the need for a venn diagram??
