Im not a specialist just yet but I know that older SS's have tags like that, the numbers are the same because its the art number not a serial number. The box looks fine (albeit old) and im not positive but I think its not that unusual for older models to have nipples like that! Legit is my opinion, but if im wrong let me know!

I knew about the older models possibly having nips. I think i read that on this fine forum.
Whats the difference between an art number and a serial number?
Thanks for your comments Dirty.

No prob mate, its what we're here for! If you look at the tags on newer models they have an art number and a serial number. The art number is like the id number for the artwork or design of the shoe so these numbers should match on any pair you have, the bottom number is the serial number and these should be different as each (legit) shoe has its own unique number! Hope that helps!

it looks old because the shoes are from 2001 - on the label it says 11/01, that means they were made November 01. I'd say the shoes are fine, the older soops do have the nips, and the label under the tongue looks fine for an older model. Also the fact that these appear to have bought instore help the case. I say nice pick-up

Well, i'll be damned... i was so sure these were duds, as the title of this thread suggests.
I have just messaged the seller to ask him when he bought them, but could they have been sitting there for that long? I'd be shocked, if he told me they were a recent bargain purchase.
I should also ad there were no tags.

Don't laugh sin, that's how much we pay for soops in Oz.

Usually it's $120 for really basic pairs, regular pairs are about $150 and vintages are about $180.

That's why I don't buy from here.

I thought that might be the case.
Yeah the US is where it's at, it still seems funny that I pick up special releases and limited editions
cheaper from the US (including delivery) than regular pairs go for in my local footlocker.

They look ropey to me - Check the trefoil stitching on the heel tab
