Indeed fc - and, like the om, is to be seen all over India today. It's a symbol of good luck and well being, very different cultural connotations than in the West obviously, where the taboo remains after it was hijacked and misused by the Nazi party.
Anyone remember the furore when Kula Shaker (quasi Hindu posh British indie band) used one on their album cover and the chumps at the NME accused them of being Nazis instead of just misguided hippies?
