Hi people,

Just a quick question - found this seller with several pairs on ebay, are his tsubasa's real or not?

What are the tell tale signs?

Many thanks to anyone who can offer me some advice.

if you look at the 'players' and compare to the ones on the Adidas site, they are placed differently on the shoe. Also, the way the shoes are laced is the fakes are usually laced...

is it likely there are any more real ones left on ebay?

because there are some still selling with crazy "buy it now" prices of £230 for example, but that wouldn't guarantee authenticity would it?

I'm certain there are still real ones to be found, but it's really getting harder to spot the fakes these days. Best way to check for authenticity is if the pics are taken by the seller himself (with his name on a piece of paper next to it) and to compare with the pics on the Adidas site:

and of course when in doubt you can always post a link here...

maybe it's a trick of the light, but the ones on ebay, the blue sides of the shoe always seem a lot lighter than the ones on ebay....

still if these ones are fakes the quality of them are impressive to be fair.

but that just makes it harder for the rest of us!

ask to see photos of the barcodes on the tags and the box..

Thanks a million guys for setting up this forum, It had been niggling me for a while after I bought a pair of ADIDAS 35TH CAPTAIN TSUBASA superstars... were they fake or real? The above comments have just confirmed that they are infact fake!

Why was I so unsure? Like a lot of you guys the counterfeitin scum out there have really gone to town on making near immaculate copies.... Its understandable why so many of us are asking questions becuase mine are a faultless copy.

Faultless? Well a 99.9% copy. Until I read up on posts like this I would never have known.... and the fact they were pretty cheap, minor discolouration and the smell of GLUE got my alarm bells ringing!

I aint the first and sure wont be the last to get sucked in... something really needs to be done.

i really feel like throwing my trainers because I genuinely thought these trainers were the real deal... no wonder the seller was so keen to get the money off me AND swore down they were genuine! he needs whacking!

I have recently bought a GENUINE pair of Y3 paninis from www.triads.co.uk, but I am tempted to not wear them and keep them as an investment.... especially with it being the world cup / football and the fact there are only 5000 world wide.

Are trainers in general a good investment? Would you say they would be worth holding on to?

I am interested to know your thoughts or maybe point me in to the right direction?

Some trainers go up in value, it depends how rare tehy are..

Like the genuine super ape camo ones.. they will go for hundreds and hundreds..

If the stock of that style is limited then im sure it will hold if not increase in value..

Especially if they are unworn!

But some trainer collectors will argue that theres no point in buying trainers and not wearing them!

I still cant bring myself to wear my underworlds yet!

Personally I'd wear 'em. No way to tell for sure if the value will increase, and even if you could profit £100-200 would it really be worth having them laying around for 5-10 years when you really want to rock 'em?

i reckon i am gonna keep em stored away.... with the panini superstars being limited to 5000 its worth holding on to them, especially given the fact its the world cup too.

to justify what i am sayin (believe me i am itching to get those bad boys on ) I payed £68 for a BRAND NEW lendl tracky top which dated from around 1987 and when I got it (really excited) one of my relations remarked that he used to have one which were *all the rage* when he was younger! Some of the lendl stuff is well sought after at the min.

before i veer of the point i was tryin to make lol (doh!) the 'limited edition collectors item i have in the form of these panini trainers i think i may be on a winner

p.s. i wont ever sell them i will just like the idea of owning a pair of rare adidas history in 25 years time
