Hi Guys,
I'm a newbie (but I did say hello over on the welcome thread) trying to identify a pair of old and much loved superstars so I can buy my better half a new pair for his birthday.
I had no idea, when I started this quest, how many types of superstar trainer there actually are. I thought it was going to be a simple case of 'oh well, they have 'superstar' written down the side, they'll be easy to find then' - no chance!
So, I was wondering if any of you experts can identify them?
The closest I've got is a sort of cross between a Superstar 2G - but the shell seems different, the stitching on the back is different, and the colourways don't seem to be available as it's all white body and coloured accents rather than the other way about as per my ones - and a Superstar II - where the shell seems more alike, but the sole is flat compared to the curved sole of the ones in my pics.
On my shoe, the material is a blue suede which has faded alot through use and washing (eeek!) but I can't even seem to find a newer model which has the same dark blue suede colourway with the white shell that the other half totally loves.
Anyway, thanks in advance for any help or advice you can offer.

^^^you guys are terrible. and you call yourselves trainerheads...

those have never hit Canada, so I'm not much help. I have the feeling that they aren't necessarily made any longer, or have been modified over the years so they no longer look like this pair.

OH, so they might not be superstars, but they have the word "superstar" down the side? That might explain why I can't find them anywhere online! Fakes, then, or 'homage' copies do you think?

i'm no help finding these i'm afraid, but to be honest i would'nt waste you're time looking as there are much, much better pairs of trainers to be had than these, trust me

OK OK, so you guys don't like them. I get that!!!!!
- but he LOVES them - as you can tell by the state of 'em - they've been worn to death. He's bought newer ones and still wears these cronky old things!
I guess I just need to find something similar to keep him happy.
Trainerstation and Eastbay have got the superstar IIs in similar colourway - leather rather than suede - but thanks MR.Spite for that info - I might try these     - (she ducks in anticipation of the tirade of 'I hate them' remarks)
