Just noticed this--it is very hard to tell from the pics, but it does look like the snake pattern is horizontal to me, not vertical. Will see if I get those pics.

Yep.. fake. just check the usual signs. Laces loosely packed, snakeskin going the wrong direction, heel "clits", poorly constucted box... etc.
