something like this will NEVER happen.
there is a hugh line between swoosh and stripes. nike follow it's own way, and so does adidas.

compare it to nike/adidas earnings Laughing
plus, they don't have many popular models except freestyle and princess (there are the ones that i can think of now). nike have dunks and air max/forces, while adidas have superstars, campus, smiths and few more. most money comes from lifestyle shoes now..

Maybe they've just got it wrong and Mike was trying to buy adidas. I don't know who Mike is, but he's probably rich.

Michael Jordan?

The story goes he was ready to walk from nike and join adidas after the jordan 2. he was late for the meeting to see the jordan 3 and only went because his father made him...

guess he liked the shoe.

According to 'Pitch Invasion' Jordan was an adi-head before Noikes came a calling with the greenbacks.

I would be very surprised if adidas sold out to N*ke, who would they compete against? It's like a rival team buying out another teams players only to find no one to play against.

Gonna delete this thread as there have been threads about this in the past.
Put simply, it would NEVER get past the relevant monopolies and mergers commissions.
Same reason Tesco weren't allowed to buy Asda.
They'd have become too big !

I was thinking about this earlier today, if this rumour was true, you wouldn't have had the big money bidding war in the last few weeks for the rights to manufacture the French national football team's kits from 2010 (which N*ke won!).
