I didn't even bother to read Pokey's post before I started my waffle.
You could remove the coating of the lace stay with a burr of some kind.
I did the same to a pair and you wouldn't know they hadn't started life as nubuck.

A burr is a spinny thing with sharp grooves cut into it.
I partly used one of those as well as the blueish thing centre top to remove all the coating off these here doodies.

Where can I find more info about this on the web? I went to the harrods store site and they don't even have a Superstar shoe to pick from the 10 shoes listed?

Also, is the UK one limited to size 11 or 12 only?
