24 Hour Party People is an excellent film that is about the Hac and the bands associated it, if anyone hasnt seen it.

Legend indeed, sadly not in the best of health. He had a kidney removed due to cancer in Jan 07 and the NHS in all its glory decided against funding his treatment....still, nice to know Doctors that try and blow up our streets get treated tho eh?

Happy Mondays Managers past and present are raising cash for him coz as he says 'i was the only one that made no cash'.

A True 20th Century Hero. Outspoken, Honest and Blunt. Long live the Wilson.

It only went bankrupt because The Happy Mondays used all the money to buy drugs!!!!
Shaun Ryder mainly!
And not only that Mr Wilson was too soft!!!

A true man's man, without Tony I doubt we'd have been gifted the Madchester era....

And anyone who was in any way responsible for getting Blue Monday and Love Will Tear Us Apart cut on vinyl is aces in my book....

Footnote to that tho:

Factory Records famously owned NONE of the publishing rights to ANY work produced yet paid for everything....

And, when the BlueMonday 12" came out it cost £2.25 to produce each copy and they sold it for £1.99, making a loss of 26p per copy. Given the amount it sold, thats a lot of dosh!!!!

Live and learn eh? Fast forward to the Mondays Barbados experience........9 years on and still no clue. Master tapes held by the band designed to blackmail Factory into giving them drug cash. Ouch!!!

The place to be tonight for Hacienda lovers is the Urbis in Manchester, opening night invite only for the Hacienda 25th Anniversary exhibition, with DJ's Peter Hook, Sasha, Graeme Park and my mate Nick is warming up (still couldn't blag me in Confused ) Manchester music's 'who's who' will all be in attendance. Would love to be going! Sad

The shoes look crap, a Hacienda vintage superstar would have been much better.

I'm sure when the Hac finally shut in early 97 it was due to continued licencing problems with the council. Such a shame, this was THE ULTIMATE nightclub. The sound, the atmosphere, the crowd, everything about the place was awesome. Cool

Back to the trainer thing though.

adidas must think that a Y3 version is more marketable than a soop version, which given that rare soops tend to have a higher RESALE value than the purchase price, you can see their point.

still sucks tho, most people that wear Y3's also wear really toss slim fit jeans with them and they looked shite in the old days!!!!

Danny Dyer (great bloke, shite dress sense) sorry to my wife
Alex Turner (great music, shite dress sense)

etc etc etc
