I know there are some horror stories on here to do with customs charges. I'm wondering how bad they can hit me for 40 odd squid worth of goods???

Maybe its just my luck but i only got smacked once by customs...anytime i got something i made sure it was marked with a value of under $50 and marked as a gift as well...worked for me apart from if it came with fedex

My friend sent me a gift from the states not sure if it stated that on the box and I am not sure of hte total but looking at the box the goods totaled about £40 and I got slapped with £24 custom charge.

I bought those red suedes just before Christmas and didn't get hit with customs charges but I do think they fit a tiny bit small, wearable but a bit snug.

Yeah I've only been hit once myself, with my Yodas. They were in a massive box though, and the dozy woman wrote the full value on the label, and didn't mark it as a gift.

£44 later and they were mine.
