lol i was pretty drunk when i wrote that i do like his stuff i just find it absolutely riduculous that there are better writers out there and no one calls that art and buys a wall that its on its just vandalism

look at people like insa aztek pryme etc all amazing 3d writers that actually design there own shit and spend hours painting it essentially stencils are a peice of piss to make and dont take long to put up

at the end of the day if i was banksy an people were offering me that amount of money i would standardly take it

it just confuses me why people make such a fuss and overlook so many other dope writers

yeah, its random..

the bloke who owns the building we rent an office in has another building in notts.. its called the oldknows factory.. and its been converted to a nu age office style block for artists and stuff..

he lets them paint on a wall outside, its AMAZING..

ill get pics!

i agree too, banky is good but there are so many good artists that need respect too!

I need more lemon pledge...  Very Happy

there are a lot of alley ways in the area around my office and writers are free to have at it. Some pretty good work. We also have an annual graf festival in the area and it's pretty cool to see guys in the middle of the day practicing their art.

yes , the proper graff artists are overlooked. but banksy is one of the only great stencil painters around.
his work is political and spot on to the world around us. Very Happy

Have to agree Mr.S, Banksy has some excellent ideas and i think his stencil format works really well. I love his thought provoking work.

Couldn't have put it better. Cool

Dialekt, I don't think you could really call Banksy a writer to be honest and I doubt he'd call himself one. He's a stencil artist so comparing him to more traditional graff artists is a bit pointless really if you ask me, can see your point though as I am a lover of graff Wink

Any more info on your jam? I'm sure there's a few heads on here who'd like to hear more

Great book. Along with the Henry Chalfant Subway & Grafitti Art books from the mid late 80's.

Got Banksy as my wallpaper on my mobile and have always fancied this as a tatt

Did anybody see the piece on the ITV news yesterday that Hackney council are getting rid of 30 "Banksy's" because of a Zero Tolrance (have I got that right) policy to graffiti??

What, is this part of a Hackney 'beautification project' or Hackney 2020 or whatever the hell the council initiative was I remember from a few years back?

Stupid stupid stupid.

How the hell do they expect gentrification if they don't keep some of the 'edginess' that gets the first wave of yuppies to move in?
