I know there are quite a few techie types on these boards, and i was wondering if i could ask for some advice...

I need new anti virus software, and i was wondering if there were any particular reccomendations, i had norton once, but it went a bit doolally and the pc died. Im looking for recomendations for one i can buy.
I know if i type it into google i'l get loads, BUT i wont find any that are recomended by forum members, who i would trust a lot more than some person trying to flog me their product.

And if for the meantime while i scrap the pennies together to get the software, there are any recomendations for a free trail or something to keep me safe from interweb nasties then it would be much appreciated!
