Regarding the 'empty inside' and barely visible tongue, it's not something I've thought about, it's just the way they look because of the angle and the way they're 'posed'. They're supposed to look like a pair of heavily worn beaters just thrown in a corner after being worn, not a fancy ad photo with everything styled if you know what I mean. Also, they're not all black inside on the actual painting, there are some shades of purple, it's just not easy to see in the crappy pic I took...
