people say things like that all the time, i think a lot comes from the companies that produce brown/seeded/wholegrain/wholewheat bread.
Its a lot to do with the speed the carbs from the grains get digested. brown and the rest take longer leaving you fuller, plus they contain more fibre. White still has similar benefits, but not quite as much. for example, fibre content and the quality of the carbs.
