thanks! for the wides, all you need to take off the side jewel is a flathead screwdriver and some needlenose pliers. the only flaw is that there is an indent or recess in the shoe where the jewel used to be and those two lace holes become a little bigger. most (normal) people wouldn't have any idea that the shoe was altered Smile.
