Yes, there is a law: The Misuse of a Shelltoe Act 1984
This act is intended to prevent the non-approved use of a shelltoe on footwear applications other than the Superstar. Offences under the Misuse of a Shelltoe Act can include:
• Possession of a Supermodified shoe
• Possession of a Supermodified shoe with intent to supply another collector
• Customisation, Lace-swapping of otherwise modifying a SupermodifiedÂ
• Supplying another person with a Supermodified
• Posting pictures of Supermodifids online without a suitable warningÂ
To enforce this law the SSDBÂ police have the special powers to stop, detain and search people on 'reasonable suspicion' that they are in possession of a Supermodified. Â
