If you lay the shoes next to each other right foot with right foot and look at them side on from sole height you'll see, that on a fake pair, the toe comes into the sole at a much steeper angle.
Also the cut of the leather on the inside is more like two straight lines rather than a nice curve.
Confusing I know.
