It really isn't that much quicker, lets be honest. The reason kids write like that thesedays is cos other kids do. Sometimes it's best typing it a different way to mimic speech, sometimes it's an abbreviation, that stuffs fine. But hacking out letters and sticking numbers in is bordering on retarded. You don't have a character limit on the internet (unless you're on twitter I guess).
