I hear what King is saying on this one too.
Taking myself for example, I have never really been an internet forum type of person but once i happened upon you guys i knew i had to join. I also knew that there was a proper etiquette to follow if i was to be accepted, and (hopefully) i respected that.
What i'm trying to say is, i've been into supes for decades and consider myself sound in my interest, but i've only been a member here for 5 months. If it happened to be 5 months later before i found you guys and the initiation was real tough, i might have decided to stay the type of geezer that dosen't bother with forums.
So maybe it's not the joining that needs to be tougher but what threads you can access as a new member. Maybe we need a test!!! All new members have to be able to tell us who Adolf Dassler is...
If they can't we know a man who can.
Also how about not saying that a number of posts are needed to unlock certain threads. This might stop spammers from trying to reach that magic number??????
