Someone suggested that newbies shouldn't be able start new topics and I think that could do the trick (of course they should be able to start an intro-topic though).
Not sure if it could be done in real life, but how about this:
It's not possible to post at all unless you've made an intro, and after that you can only post in topics already existing, say, until you've reached 50 posts or so.
I know it would still be possible to spam a few topics and then start posting stupid questions on your own, but it would also be fairly easy to spot and moderators could throw the person out on his/hers ass and elbows

On the other hand, people who were really into Supes would probably be posting anyway and have no problem posting 50 genuine posts in a short period of time.
Anyway, just a thought
