I reckon a NY tri would be OK, especially if combined with Xmas shopping or something, flights are pretty cheap again. You'd be saving a fair bit on the trainers compared to Berlin price.

Dont mean to rain on anyones parade but if you went to NY for a shopping trip, exactly HOW many do you think you are going to bring back? The mi superstar takes 3-4 weeks for delivery and adidas arent going to skip the customs thing are they? so you will still get shafted!!
I guess the wait will do us good! Berlin is easier I reckon. £79 flights, get an apartment for a few nights, do the business and see the sites!
