I'm trying to get some info on a pair of adidas i bought off the bay just as the 35th Anniversary series dropped - they are like stan smiths & have a "Robert Haillet" signature on them in gold.

I know originally the stan smiths were branded robert haillet (a french tennis player) & then adidas changed it to stan smith as he won the open or something, but thats about all i know...

I have seen similar pairs on Rakuten (in white) but these are black butter leather & google hasn't thrown anything up - can anyone help???

The sellers ebay listing said that these were a japan only release & were rarer than any 35th anniversary - i reckon he's right - well certainly from what i've been able 2 find out anyway!

I can't find any info on 'em anywhere - i know they are very similar to stan smiths but these have a low back like vintage superstars & the white trim on the heel is suede not leather...

There are no markings on the tongue & there are no trefoils or adidas markings on the outside of the shoe except the side of the sole, in the center of the sole (as on stan smiths, in the middle of the tread) & also the insoles say adidas.

I'd just like some links to info about them, whether they were limited or a rare colourway etc

I'd also like to know what date they were made?

The label has 01/Q1/09 on it but obviously this can't but configured into a date - unless someone knows different...

I kept thinking it must be date related but couldn't figure out how because i didn't understand what the Q was all about & thought the 09 obviously couldn't mean 1909 or 2009...

It seems logical now you've pointed it out!

So thanks to Effel, i now know they were made early 2001 - anyone else ever seen them before or know of any links regarding them?

The brown shoes on the left are a copy of the To Be Determined's that were set aside as a Consortium release but never used.
All the Consortiums had a vintage cream sole and that is clearly beigey brown.

You're the only person 2 spot that (other than woody when he 1st asked if they were fake & i spouted some bollox about buying off ebay & that they were genuine - the other pic somewhere on here clearly shows the insole printing as being black & white instead of coloured & printed upsidedown!

Ohh yeah - & the fact they are a superstar 1 shape & not vintage is also a big clue - look at the heel in the other pic!
