I started this thread as a tribute to an icon, which like it or not Michael Jackson was. He was a great man who did many good deeds. He has shaped music today and inspired many artists. So Pure, theres no way I can agree with you saying he has been "largely irrelevant for the last 20 years"
I didn't start this thread as a crass joke, trash talk MJ thread. I am surprised at some of the people here tbh.
I'm up for a joke as much as the next man, as I'm sure most of you know. But to me its a bit to soon for these jokes and they are very bad taste.
Perhaps its just better a mod deletes this thread before people fall out?

It's all personal. I could quite easily list all the things MJ has released which i personally find relevent since Bad, but it would make no difference to those who don't like him.
His influence in so many different areas changed the landscape of the music industry, most notably being credited for breaking down racial barriers on MTV. That will forever be relevent.
Would you be good enough to participate in this morning's edification?

Good point made there dregz.He was and always will be more than just a singer,dancer who like it or not made a massive impact on the world regardless of age,,race,sex,religion,location.
Truely a global superstar who will probably never be outdone.
Just checked hmv.com and every single album,video,dvd is completely sold out!!! apparently he will occupy the top10 places in the album charts by tonight
p.s A quick apology to you mr.pure for how i replied/reacted to your posts it was not called for and i apologise for this.As i think you know i was a professional dancer and michael jackson pretty much shaped my path in life,If he hadn't been around i have no doubt i wouldn't of choosen that path.
