Sad

DO NOT clean the brass back plate of your TOP SECRET box with brasso, as it has the effect of removing the (what was thought to be) etching, which is actually just printed..... Oh Bugger. Mad

Actually, thats a good point, by ruining their resale value, I might just as well wear them. Better get those shoe trees out for a bit of action.

If I wasn't so wealthy I might be tempted cracky, but after some thought you can go an crack one off! fart

Now can a stretch size 8's to size 9's I wonder?

Err, would it be stupid of me to suggest having the brass plate etched with the text that was on it? (not sure if this is possible/helpful)

Well me feet must be shrinking cos they are actually a pretty close fit, so maybe just a little stretching and the continued use of very thin socks required. Smile

In respect of getting the plate redone, I think it would be just to complex, as it has all the shoes displayed on them. I only actually did about a shoe and a half before realising, but I am afraid I think it is a case of 'whats done is done!'.

The plate already had dents over over it from when the brass knobs on the shoe trees supplied banged it during shipping anyway, so no real loss I guess. At least the shoe horn polished up well!

Bit crap that the pictures aren't even etched in.

Well, I did the shoe horn first, which has a deep etching on it, and it was fine, so didnt even think to check if the back plate was etched. More fool me probably, but agreed, very fuckin weak.....

.... Brass tarishes, so needs cleaning, simple... But maybe they just expected people to throw the boxes away???? Shocked
