How to lace my supes - bigtrev503 - 21-07-11

This is going to sound ridiculous, but whatever.

The "cool way" to wear superstars, in my opinion, is with fat laces, laced up to third from the top eyelet, leaving the top two eyelets open. Tongue sticking up. The Run DMC way. Problem seems to be that I can't find a good way to secure them behind the tongue without them being too loose.

I feel like a tool walking around with my foot flopping out of my shoe, not to mention it hurts. But I also refuse to lace them up tight.

Is there a particular technique to lace them? Is there a thread with ways to lace them or how to make them "hold on" to my feet better?

Any help is greatly appreciated

[Josh]I guess you can't prevent your feet from flopping/ slipping out of your supes if you leave the top two eyelets open. Or you have to buy supes that are too small for your feet, so that there's no space for them to flop/ slip out of your supes. But in the end you'll be killing your feet that way, and I don't know if looking cool is worth that.[/Josh]

Run Dmc didn't have any laces did they? JMJ definitely wore supes without laces here...
We tried it as kids but you couldn't play football or break in them (without hitting someone). We did stuff socks under the tongue so that the laces buffed up a bit and they stayed on.
However I am now close to forty and I lace them all the way and losely tie behind the tongue.
Is this a mid life crisis?

Since I decided to switch to supes exclusively I have bought them in a 9.5 and every pair of shoes I've had before them, including other styles of adidas, have been a 10. I am killing my feet, but I do look pretty awesome

I should have said the"hip hop" way to wear them.

And no, I don't think it's a mid-life crisis. You probably have decided that comfort is more important than looking cool, which makes sense.

Yeah, as it is I have them laced to the second from the top eyelet with the bow tucked behind the tongue. It hurts when I walk though. I'm thinking I might let the ends just go free into my shoe. Is that what you guys mean? Laced to the second from the top and just tucked into the shoe?

Question, has anyone seen those really gangster ass guys that choose to wear them with two open eyelets? How the fuck do they walk without flopping? Furthermore, how would you run in a hurry if there was an emergency? Step out of your supes and run down the street in your socks? Maybe I'm thinking about this too much...

My girlfriend said she would rather listen to me go on and on about power rangers than shoes.

You know, call me crazy, but I think superstars should have those elastic straps inside that ar e usually found in skateboarding shoes. That way, no matter how you laced them, they would not flop. Also, we could achieve the "no lace" look without total foot floppage. Unfortunately, I'm not going to experiment with my supes and fuck them up, but it would be an awesome idea. I should email adidas about making a superstar 2.0.1 lol
