Well you'd be hard pushed to find a brand new unworn pair nowadays, so i'd say if money isn't a problem & they're your size - GET 'EM!!!
I agree they're over priced (especially as $1500 equals just over £800 + the fact they only cost £100 on release) but thats the price you pay 4 exclusivity!
Good 2nd hand (slightly worn) pairs are changing hands on ebay for anything between £500 - 700 atm, so at a shade over £800 i reckon it's the way 2 go... if your rich (which we know you are scotswiss!)
Other than the black staff version, these are the most sought after SS & i doubt you'd get another chance to buy a brand new pair...
