Paypal and Refunds -

I recently won a pair of Boston 35ths off ebay Uk, seller said they were in excellent condition and worn only 3 times and from the pic he had they looked good. I got them in yesterday and they are in terrible shape, they are very dirty, scuffed and the soles have excessive wear. I tried cleaning them but they aint coming clean! I contacted the seller and he said he is willing to refund the cost of the shoes ($12) but not the cost of postage ($25). It really pisses me off when I look at the shoes but my question is should I push to get the full amount back or just settle for $12? Ive never dealt with a situation like this so im not sure what is right.

Post a link and then the actual item if you can for us.

Take it through ebay and then paypal. You'll get a minimum of $12 back that way, probably the whole lot. I got all my money back when some guy sold me fake PPs.

I just went straight through paypal, that was for a missing item though that hadn't been sent recorded. Eventually got a full refund but it took about 5 weeks.

Pics
In the second pic you can see all the wear they show.
I filed the claim through paypal but their first step is to communicate with the seller personally which I did, the next step is to let paypal handle it themselves.

Here is a lil reference point, on the left is the actual shoe I tried cleaning with oxy clean and a scrub brush and on the left is a new pair of NYLs.

Wow... Those are FUCK'D UP!
Oxyclean method didn't work? This guy must've really let some shit set into the shoes. I've had great results with it but you have to put some elbow grease into it.
I would say with his description and the washed out photos that obviously were taken from the optimal (misleading) angle, he misrepresented the condition.
Good luck with getting a refund. It looks like you have a valid arguement.
With your name and avatar... shouldn't these be perfect for you though?

He has definitely misrepresented the condition of the shoes.
I bet the inside looks pretty shit too.
Fuck him, you want all the money back !
And return postage if he wants them back.
