Collectors - To Wear or to Display ? - ozthecoz - 25-04-07

Just a couple of questions for those who have more than a few pairs of soops -

Do you collect to wear or to display ?

do you only buy in your size ?

if you display your soops, how / where do you display them ?

and finally - do you class yourself as an enthusiast or a trainer collecter?

Just interested to see what people do etc

nah ive got that wrapped up cheers :p

im mainly interested in seeing if people view a nice pair of trainers ( be them soops, nikes or whatever) as an object of art or not, ie would you display them in a cabinet for example and is there a distinction between an enthusiast and a collector - if you buy lots of pairs of trainers and keep them in a box on a shelf are you a collector or are you a horder lol

another angle ( maybe :p) - a collecter of rare trainers would not consider a pair of fakes but maybe an enthusiast would due to just wanting nice lookiing trainers ?

You're asking for black and white but there are so many shades of grey.
Some idiots buy every fucking thing going cos they wanna be seen to be a prominent collector.
I buy the ones I really want and some pairs that I get very cheap just for the hell of it.
I don't display them, display them but I intend to sort of when I move.
Personally, I'd say that a Superstar is more of an icon that has been present throughout so much of my life and certain pairs I like to look at as they are melifluous.

I wear em to death, Display em (hard not to, theyre everywhere). I buy what i like and can afford.

To me, i prefer having absolutely fucked shoes on, that were originally sought after. Dunno why, just feels better.

Worn shoes are always comfier, my comfiest pair of shoes are some battered nikes.
