You can get a musical act. Sponsors will pay for that. Marlboro, Camel, beer and liquor, etc.. The bigger the artist, the more people will come, the more sponsors will pay. Please make the artists hip hop. Honestly I would even prefer some commercial rap, over most other stuff. Im sure Im out numbered on that though.

"House music all night long" as a fat bloke once said.
I don't think Run DMC made too much difference to Adidas' bottom line.
They were a huge company before they came along.
A proper festival should have at least 2 sound stages, possibly 3.

And dont forget the Dance tents!

I would say that in the US Run DMC made a huge difference. Most people here, Hip-hop kids, skaters, etc.. are wearing Nikes now. They either rock Dunks, Air Maxs, Jordans or AF1s. There are so mant Nike collectors. Both my employees at my shop collect Limited dunks. Most loyal Adidas fans that I know are old school B-boys or hip hop kids. They wear them because of the history and tradition in our culture. Most people dont actually wear them because of Run Dmc, music or the members of the group exactly, but run dmc is the main reason why the tradition that keeps people wearing them exists here.
-has anyone seen the movie, just for kicks?

I wear mine coz I love 'em
And they are cool
And I've just bought three more pairs,
And - I NEED TO GET MY MONEY'S WORTH
And ..................... I couldn't give a damn about Bloody Run DMC
Adidas were around WAY before them

I have to say that for me and my friends down here in the South Run Dmc were a huge part of a changing Hip Hop scene from "Sucker Mc's" which is an absolute classic to Peter Piper etc they were the business then in my opinion. Their use of heavy metal guitars in the songs hadnt been done before to my knowledge either?
Also the first rap act ever to get airplay on MTV?
I dont think that their input to Superstars can be denied either? They werent the first to wear them but they were the biggest stars of the time to be wearing them, endorsing them and rapping about them. So important that Adidas introduced the Ultrastar in 1988 to pay homage to them and thank them for their fantastic PR work.
Now im not saying that you have to like Run Dmc, im not a great fan of their later work if im honest but they sure have played a major role in the Superstars destiny in my opinion!
Had to get that off my chest! Sorry!
