Not that smart lol.. What I meant was more about what is chucked out when the encoding is taking place. I agree what you are listening on makes a huge difference to what you can pick out frequency wise, but personally the low and high sound so different in my head. Although the compression Mike mentions, is shit too . When these kids have their drums so heavily compressed the result would be mashed frequencies. Hip hop like dilla has a lot to answer for.. God love him.

Just read the wiki stuff on MP3 as it has been a while since I read up on this, the Sound on Sound recording books are great btw. Anyway at a high bit rate I shouldn't perceive any difference but i have big ears and ear canals (in ear headphone are a nightmare) so maybe looking like dumbo has something to do with it?
I'm great at listening in to conversations too.

Anyhow, like I can afford to drop £200 on a set them but thanks for the thought, Tif.
I only used the nasty arsed Apple shit cos the Sennheisers had packed up.
They now work perfectly and I have learnt how to solder electronics with a flame so it's all good.

Well done Pure.
I've been using Grados (iGrados) for maybe five years now and got SR80i's just few weeks ago. Not the best pair but very very good for office use. I'm using my old Marantz from 1977ish as an amplifier. Nice warm sound

The builders have put the steel in between my kitchen and a utility room and knocked the wall down. Chez Benji has a lovely L shaped kitchen covered in dust and rubble, but at least we can now see the point of living in a shithole for weeks.

Also, LED lighting! How good is that shit?

Nothing makes you realize that the kitchen is the most important room in the house better that tearing it apart. We did ours a while back and it felt like we were living in a tenement for several weeks.

had my meeting at work today about the restructuring of our department, and even though ive been in the department for the least amount of time I scored 2nd highest in the criteria to keep my job...Waaaaahoooooo! i'll never moan about how boring it is again*
