Indeed, first thought it was a splinter but then spotted a big bastid wasp crawling away, thankfully they don't affect me but still annoyed me.

You thought it was a splinter?!? I'd be bawling like a girl. When i was a kid a bee once got trapped in my afro (it was the 70's!) and stung me on the back of the neck, it hurt like fuck!

David Attenborough edit: I remember being stung by a bee when I was five and it seemed to hurt more than any other wasp sting.
This explains why - a bee can only sting once (and then die) but more poison in the sting than a wasps.

word up! Wasps are 'orrible little fuckers! I got stung once at a BBQ, there was a wasp buzzing around and my friend spazzed out and hit the thing at me with a plate, so it stung my arm up and then fucked off. It didn't hurt that much, but it did annoy me.

Pah wasps u big girls...when i was 10,11 yrs old i use to catch em with me hands and squish em....dead ard me
Only 1 that ever hurt me was one that landed on a window as i whacked the bastard/squish it against the window as i'd done loads of times before the glass decided it wasn't as tough as me and i put me hand straight through the wasp and the window...14stitches later i decided to leave em alone
