Just finished my first 5k run, pretty slow time I think, but did it pretty much cold turkey, so pretty pleased with myself.

Need to see if I can beat my time next week now

Well done fella, hats off to you. Especially at this time of year.
Been contemplating a bit of running myself, will need some new trainers though.
Were you running round the streets or on one of those rolling road affairs at a gym?

Did it at my local park run.

They have them all over the country, put your times on the site so you can monitor how you do, and it was a pretty good atmosphere as well with people of all ages.

I've signed up to do a 10k in October, going to Oz has kept me motivated at the gym, so doing that should keep me going afterwards.

Was there for 2 hours this morning, and I've just had sushi for lunch. I don't know who I am anymore...

Same here... well similar. 8 pints of Guinness, bed at 2, up at 9:30, big fry up, sat on me fat arse all day.. fitness? hell yeah
