It's the rivalry between the four big cities, people from Amsterdam are hated for their arrogant attitude. Just like Ajax is the most hated club for their arrogant attitude. So apart from the Ajax - Feyenoord rivalry which is the most "famous" rivalry, there's also a rivalry between the clubs from the other two big cities (Den Haag and Utrecht) and Ajax.

Coulda been double figures Nik.

In terms of fan rivalry, where does Einhoven sit Marco. Are they just a big club who have succeded because of the backing of Philips and thus dont have the historical anymosity that Ajax - Feyenoord has?

RE: The fitba thread! - Marco82 - 04-03-13

The big successes of PSV started in the seventies when Philips started to make a topclub of em. They had won national cups and league titles before that already, but from the seventies on they became part of the top three.
So they don't have the historical anymosity with the traditional two topclubs indeed.

The backing of Philips isn't that big anymore nowadays, the link between the club and the company isn't that strong like it was in the past. They now just have a contract as main sponsor, but it's possible that when this contract ends another sponsor takes in the place on the front of the shirt.

PSV with another sponsor on their tops would be weird. It'd be like when the Queen finally lets Prince Charlse take over and shoving his head on a 5 pound note.

what a coincidence. there's a youth club in a nearby city that has connections with your Ajax and they too are a very arrogant club. they think that all of youth football should evolve around them and all players should come to their club.

^ They probably got that attitude from their arrogant connections. Laughing

I also remember a local taxi driver in Amsterdam nearly crashed his taxi when he was driving but at the same time trying to show me his "Ajax F-Side" tattoo on his chest. Confused

Any of you addicted to watching the Euros?
I've recorded most matches and then watch at night when I get home from work.
Euros and Copa. A lot of football going on right now.
See who the USA ends up playing. Probably Argentina.

Can't believe Brazil got knocked out by Peru.
The Euro's is about as mental a tournament as I have ever seen.
Total outsiders drawing or beating favourites.
Something like 6 goals in total for the first halves of all matches andnearly twice as many for the final 5 minutes of all matches.
Spain or England will win it.
