I'm hoping to go to Canada next year for a snowboarding holiday.
Not sure where as yet but I'm only going cos it's pretty much guaranteed snow.

well, I'd fly to Calgary and head into the interior of BC. You're going to want to avoid Vancouver next winter with the Olympics and all.
