@Niko: I've experienced the same in various clubs where I've been around the world. Sometimes I can't get in and the next night I do get in without any hassle while wearing basically the same type of clothes. I mean what the hell?! It's all just bollocks!
Funniest thing I remember about one specific "no entry" incident was just when I had been noted about my "wrong" clothing, the owner came in and we greeted (I knew him) and he asked me to come in and have a few drinks on the house. The bouncer looked "slightly surprised".

I got stopped once going into a bar in Croydon cos of the t-shirt and Supes I was wearing.
I said to the brick shithouse black bouncer that if he let me in I'd squeeze his nipples.
He agreed so I gave 'em one hell of a tweek.
We laughed our arses off and I strolled in.
Job done !

I have put my socks over my trainers before, so not to be left out, and it worked a treat, looked a bit like suede, although they stuck to every bit of chewing gum in the place, and I had to bin them on the way home.
