My guess is that he paid £400+ for the consorts and offers are coming in at half that.

Smile you are very right, I do not expect to get what I paid for them. And or everyone's information no bid matches or exceeds what I paid for ANY of the consorts, at least up to this point.

What you're doing now is really just running your own auctions trying to increase the prices, having members bidding against each other, but with no chance of knowing what the current bid or price is.

Why not simply post some pics of what you have for sale and put your price next to it?

Well sorry you feel that way wildthing, I respect your opinion. As I said I in my previous post did consider it. I could have simply said Foot Patrols £400 first come first served and to hell with those who did not see my offer in time.
And yes I agree you can see this as a private auction and I would be a fool not to want to maximize the return on what was a considerable investment. I have spent A LOT of money on my collection, I do not expect to make back all my money, if I do I would be happy.

RE: Unloading my entire collection including 35th's - dj_wildthing - 26-10-12

All I'm saying is that I can't see why you don't put a price on the stuff you're selling. Put £400 on the FPs and I'm sure you will still have someone offering you money (I doubt you will sell them for £400 though, but if you can, I suggest selling them instantly), but at least it's out in the open.

Personally I'm not bothered about how you sell your stuff, I'm a UK 11 so everything is too small for me anyway (except for the D-Mops which I have already) so it's merely an observation done as a forum member. I know a sneaker forum or two that would have deleted your sales post immediately because there neither pics nor prices.

RE: Unloading my entire collection including 35th's - Old Gregg - 26-10-12

I agree with wildthing, I've never liked the offers approach, if your selling something your going to have an idea of how much you want for it so just post that amount and work from there.

Again you have nothing that fits me, it just doesn't sit well with me that your firstly claiming your trying to be fair and give everyone a chance when really your just wanting to maximise your return as you've now said, why not just say that in the first place?

RE: Unloading my entire collection including 35th's - nikosg - 26-10-12

In a way I agree with you both.... But when you are talking about things like NBHDs and D-Mops they really don't come by often. And what if he did set a reasonable price for them? Would someone purely miss out because of their time zone they are in?

When you are talking about this level of shoe, any way really isn't going to be fair on everyone.
However pics would be welcomed....

RE: Unloading my entire collection including 35th's - benji - 26-10-12

Don't envy you with this havok.

RE: Unloading my entire collection including 35th's - streak - 26-10-12

I think pics are needed..

Please put some up fella.

RE: Unloading my entire collection including 35th's - thehavok - 26-10-12

Thanks for all your comments Smile , benji I guess you can't please everyone Smile . Old Gregg I disagree, I think my approach is fair and honest. I do not see anything wrong in trying to get the best price possible for a rare and sort after item while giving as many people as possible the opportunity to acquire it, do you not agree?.

I will get some pics up this weekend guys, thanks again

RE: Unloading my entire collection including 35th's - Lorrie - 26-10-12

I figure I might as well chime in here.

In the past, I've been quite vocal about people not putting up prices, but in this case, for at least some of this collection, Havok's approach is warranted. For a pair of NBHDs, I would be absolutely gutted to miss out simply because of timing. I'd much rather figure out what my max price is and put in a bid. Will this give Havok more profit? Probably. But he did put up all the cash and effort to buy these rarer pairs in the first place.

For the less rare pairs I would probably set prices and do first come first served.

RE: Unloading my entire collection including 35th's - Old Gregg - 26-10-12

I see what your saying Niko but I don't see why he could post a guide price so you at least have a fair idea of what everyone else is likely to be bidding. How do you know the highest bidder isn't some lurker that's never contributed but has deep pockets, would you prefer that to a member that's helped and contributed getting them for a fair price?

I like this place as people go out of their way to help each other out, then every now and then you get situations like this that are counter to that and just seem a bit shitty to me. I totally understand Havok wanting to get the best price for them but I just think he could have been more upfront about it and gone about it in another way.

RE: Unloading my entire collection including 35th's - kt0626 - 26-10-12

Just to lighten the mood (and to give you a glimspe into my head), it was Havok who beat me out way back when on those NBHDs - just saying LOL....if this made you shit or laugh or puke, please send me money to put up a good offer to get them the 2nd time around LOL...

RE: Unloading my entire collection including 35th's - GeeBee - 26-10-12

It is a tricky one and I see both sides of the coin. In my experience most times when I've put a pair up for sale and asked for offers someone has asked me what I'm looking for and I've named a price, or just stated what I paid for them. A few times I've asked for offers (mostly if more than one person has expressed an interest). I hate selling supes and I wish I didn't occasionally have to. The SSDB is truly great and I think the last thing that anyone wants to do is rip any other member off. I haven't met a member on here who's selling to make a profit. But at the same time nobody likes having to take a big hit on a pair. How many of us have found ourselves looking at a mountain of blue (and white) boxes wondering where the fuck they all came from and reasoning that it would be prudent (not least for the sake of domestic peace) to let some go?
It is an addiction after all, this trainer buying business. Never again = always again Wink
That said, when buying it is a pain in the arse to have to think of an offer sometimes.
On balance I think I'm gonna add prices to the pairs I've got for sale at the moment. Good luck with your sale Havok. Smile

RE: Unloading my entire collection including 35th's - benji - 26-10-12

How do people feel about stating an 'offers in excess of' amount as compromise, may give a better idea of what havok is expecting, and not going to consider?

RE: Unloading my entire collection including 35th's - GeeBee - 26-10-12

If people would like to see the newly added prices on my thread as "offers in excess of" that's fandabydosy with me . . . ahem. Very Happy

RE: Unloading my entire collection including 35th's - Lurkzilla - 26-10-12

Delivery company's are the only ones who make a profit from collecting trainers. Very Happy

Spent about 12 grand on my collection and there's no way I would get anywhere near that back.

I would have had a pop at the Dmops if they were a size smaller but it would have been around the £200 mark, it's nice that highest bid wins as you have so many pairs up someone's bound to be in for a bargain!
