Could well be a hot weather thing as well.

Would be a bit daft rocking black socks in hot weather with shorts and Supes.

cant remember seeing trainer sock's in the shops that much when i was in Oz.. they do all seem ta go for them pulled up sports socks with shorts.. kinda defeats the point of wearing shorts
its black socks or trainer socks.. white sports socks look propa chavy bruv

I've been to Melbourne . Dunno about the height of good taste.
It's kind of like half Manchester / half Plymouth for our UK viewers.
Went to an AFL game at the MCG which has baffled me ever since. ShockedVery Happy

Well for me the pulled up white sock with shorts eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek just reminds me of my DAD !!!!

Trainer socks are essential with shorts.
