This might be a stupid question, but wouldn't it depend on how the end of the tooth brush is done? (rubber/plastic/pointy/rounded/etc.)
Could you do a pic of you and your toothbrush and how it's done properly?

The end of my one is pretty much rounded.
Hold as described and literally scrub away like you're keying DICKHEAD's (Dassler's) car.

A toothbrush with a rubber tongue scraper on the back of the head works very well at removing tought marks on the rubber soles of supes too.
