Sky could have SPL games, think the Premier League is the one there not allowed all the games of, clubs up here had the choice between the two and went for Setanta as it was more cash, despite being an unknown quantity. Couple of clubs warned against it, and unfortunately looks like they might have been right.

No private individual should be responsible and govern a whole sport.
Can't think of any other sport that has this arrangement and it's gone on far too long.
