Yeah, the internet service in Australia is ridiculous and much far behind others around the world...
EDIT: i'm using iinet atm
16 gb for 60dollars but i'm on the naked dsl plan so it also includes my phone line and free local and national calls.

but all the ISP companies and people against it said it would just slow our internet speeds right down and yeah I think its just ended up like most the schemes this government comes up with... in the "fail" bin lol

they said mainly Child Pornography,terrorist sites and anything that could harm our childred etc
but people against it said it'd give the government too much control over what they filtered, like they could filter anything they didnt want the public to see etc
people started comparing it to the chinese government and their filtering or practically anything they dislike.

Yeah, i don't think it would have been successful anyways.
But they do seem to be appearing to do with those issues fairly well of recent.
Not sure of the extent of those activities so i don't know if what the police have been doing is miniscule or not.
I recently found out that the priest (in NSW) that was busted for CP related charges was a friend's priest...
Scary...
