I think the bunnyhop just evolved into the higher flying version but kept the same name.
I've been riding bmxs since about 1980 and I've never once heard it called a donkey kick.

Yep... Black with white stripes. These are the replacement for my old school superstars black with the white stripes and the white toe. Oh yea... And the fat laces! Use to LOVE the fat laces! Couldn't bring myself to buy another pair because I destroy white shelltoes and the padding wasn't right. I had to stuff them with a sock under the tongue. I don't remember what they were called but they had the stripes closer to the toe than regular superstars. That was about 10 years ago, I just threw them out last year. This is a fitting replacement, no?
