Got the 80s suede "skates" today. They're lovely. Both sets of the laces are very soft but as usual for most of adidas' laces in their new pairs, the quality isn't too great. Far from the soft laces in older vins for example.



Hmm, I'm after a pair of NYs too, don't have them yet. Lucky for my wallet, I've more than filled my quota of supes for a while now so the hunt for more 35ths can wait.

No, actually I didn't. I'm a 9.5 in all the 80s I have but I tried on the Eldridge "skates" of the same series a while back and at least for me in 9.5 they were slightly tighter than 80s in usual and 10 felt more comfy without being too loose so I decided to go with my normal size with these black ones. I guess if necessary, I could go half a size down but I'm perfectly happy with these already.

I think pukka did go half a size down with his pair.

yeah i went down a half size... im a uk7 in zx's, uk7.5 in 80's (uk7 in a couple of the 80's) and a uk8 in ss2's & normal skates

Rob, what size did you go for on those? I'm a 9 / 9.5 and ordered a 9.5 but I've heard that you might have to go down a size with 80's

I am a 10 and have 3 pairs of 80's in a size 10. All are a bit too big. So I ordered the 3ways in a size 9.5 and they fit a lot better. So I guess you should have gone for a 9.

Yes, I'm usually a 9 (or sometimes a 9.5, even got a pair of 10's that fit well.. canvas tho') but went for an 8.5 in these.

Hmm...thought that might be the case. No 9's left so may have to go to an 8.5.
I'll see how the 9.5s are tomorrow.
