I thought it was well known he didn't invent the moonwalk?? but he was the one who brought it into the public domain and it became his signature move.
Think if i remember right he copied it from some street dancers he saw and modified it summat like that.
He never said he invented it but i think people just presumed he did

It's not the size of the feet!!it's the amount of quality on em

Bob Fosse seems to have been a huge influence on all sorts, not just Michael Jackson. Wasted a bit of time on youtube yesterday and it seems that Beyonce copied a whole video's worth of choreography wholesale.
Like you say though Pokey it's all about modifying and improving, every art form takes from its influences.

It was a french mime artist that Michael Jackson got the idea from, his name was Marcel Marceau. It was originally called the backslide but Michael perfected it and renamed it the Moonwalk.

Yes Sneakerphile Ive already read most of that article.
Let me point out one thing to you:
"Marceau's famous "Walking Against the Wind" routine was the original influence that Jackson drew from, in which Marceau pretends to be pushed backwards by a gust of wind."
And thats a quote from your link.
I didnt say the Marceau guy invented it I said he's the guy Jackson got the idea from, and Im right about that.

Fair enough Jam, I mis-read you sir.
Still, in the end, who gives a shit. The guy stopped being of interested after Bad. Anyone would think that Jesus himself had been nailed up again. Funny how everyone forgot the child abuse claims once he died. Short memory some people have. Laughing
