Adidas Superstars without shelltop?

I remember buying two pairs of trainers a couple of years ago without the rubber shell top but now when i search for them they all have the shelltops. Is there a different name to the type of trainers i am looking for, i.e. adidas superstars special xyz? I hate the shelltop but love those trainers.

thinking about it, maybe he means the V8 ball bag superstar, that had a leather toe

The first Superstar 2 didn't have a shell toe, looked more like a super skate
