FUCK OAKLEYS THEY SUCK! GET KAENONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oakley versus Kaenon
Which Sunglasses Are Better?
May 4, 2007 Anne Clarke

Are Oakleys as cool as they used to be? - Tim LewinThe popularity of Oakley will soon fade into the past while newer, better companies, like Kaenon Polarized, take over.

Sunglasses do not only protect your eyes from UV light: they are outward expressions of who you are. The sunglasses that you wear quite literally change the way that you see the world, and they can change the way that others see you. It only makes sense, then, that choosing the perfect pair of sunglasses is often a challenge. For many, it comes down to this decision: a pair of Oakleys, or a pair Kaenons?

So, which sunglasses are better, those made with the classic “O,” or the newbies? Well, the fact that Kaenon visionary Steve Rosenberg left Oakly to start Kaenon Polarized might tell you something. Yes, Oakley makes some excellent eyewear, but if you can afford to throw down a few extra bucks, you should definitely go with a pair of Kaenons.

Rosenberg left Oakley and started his own company with a purpose in mind: he wanted to make sunglasses that were both sport specific and polarized with superior technology. Of course, keep in mind that Rosenberg knows the value of great street frames, as well.

As Low as $14.99 www.Speert.com/PolarizedFrom frames to lenses, Kaenon simply outperforms its competitors. In fact, in 2003, Outside Magazine honored Kaenon Polarized with the “Gear of the Year” award, and their sunglasses have only improved since then.

For the ultimate polarized lens, check out Kaenon’s SR-91® lens material. Unlike most other sunglasses (including Oakleys), this material is not CR-39, glass, polycarbonate, or other such materials. It is made from a completely different polarized lens material, one that combines the best qualities of all the abovementioned materials – it is impact-proof and very light weight, and it has a fantastic optical acuity (similar to that of glass lenses).

Oakley, like many other companies that have done well and continue to do well, is a bit spoiled. Oakley sunglasses have simply become trendy (although, one can argue that they are not so trendy today as they were in the last decade of the last century). People buy them to have a pair of Oakleys, regardless of the quality.

A comparison article of polarized versus non-polarized sunglasses listing the key benefits and uses of each. And while Oakley has not necessarily let the quality of their eyewear slide from what it once was, they have not improved their products as greatly as they should have or could have. One might say that they have lost their vision. They have become blinded by their slightly celebrity status.

Of course, this “blindness” has left plenty of room for other up-and-coming companies, like Kaenon Polarized, to create their own visions and thereby improve the vision of the public.

Then I've been wearing some pretty well-built shit for the past 12 or so years, considering all I've worn is Oakleys and haven't had problems with any of my pairs. Razz

Load of bollocks - I have a very nice pair of Ray Bans picked up in the hut

Frankly all I care about is keeping the sun out of my eyes while not looking like a muppet. Why I'd need to go to a 'speciality' store to achieve that is beyond me.
