pukka - 8mp camera on a UK phone?

Which one is that?

Not into this phone lark at all, but my 4yr old sagem my400 is really, really shit. It was even crap at the time I bought it for £30, so imagine it now!

I just upgrade when I'm due one from O2. Couple of times I'll sell them on ebay if I'm happy with the phone I've currently got. Only phone I've ever paid for was my iphone, just to get a cheaper line rental. Cost me 87 quid, which is the exact same I got from Mazuma for my N95. Which was nice.

Couldn't be arsed changing more than every year or so.

It was fuckin' obvious that that cunt was gonnae fuck some cunt.

Battosai, there's a few out in UK with 8mp camera. There's a Sony Ericsson one(cant remember model number), Nokia N86, Samsung Tocco and the Samsung Pixon claims a 12mp camera.

Just checked, it's the Sony Ericsson W995, and they have a 12mp dropping this week - Sony Ericsson Satio.

Would you be good enough to participate in this morning's edification?

your phone camera can have all the megapixels in the world, doesnt mean its going to be any good, megapixel just means it takes bigger photos... doesnt mean the picture quality is going to be any better, that is determined by the processing and the lens used, and the lenses on camera phones are shithouse

I'd still rather carry around a point and shoot camera over a phone anyday of the week

batt, its a samsung i8510, was the one before the tocco came out sep 08... that new sony erricson looks good, samsung also bringing out a 12 megapixel....

steve-o, thats tru, and if i wanted to take "propa" pictures then i would get a digital SLR, but as i just take ya standard kinda pic the camera on my phone is more than good enough, and just as good if not better than alot of the point and shoot cameras out there, with the bonus of comming free with the phone. i'd never carry a standard point and shoot around on the off chance that i would see something worth taking a pic of, but with the phone its always on you.

Cheers for updating my feeble knowledge of phones, fellas.

Gotta agree with Pukka; I'd not really pay 150-200 notes for a digital camera as a standalone unit unless I was seriously into taking pictures, but to have a very good (for a phone) camera on you just by-the-by, as part of you phone, would be very handy.

Trust me, I'm on 1.3MP of brass and my 'images' look like something out of a Spectrum 48k game.

prime example of the benifits of the camera phone.... I was out on my bike sunday, rode past this car that was for sale, my mates really into his beetles, thought he may be interested in this, was able to take a pic there and then... didnt change any of the many settings ( lighting, against light, etc etc), just took the phone out of my pocket and took the pic.. ya gotta admit you dont really need a better quality lens than that for your standard "holiday snaps", i also find it handy at airports.... i take a picture of where the car is parked...lol

batt www.gsmarena.com is a good site for finding out whats avaliable

lol sorry guys... taking my photos is my day job, so I basically disregard camera phones all together

but I can see from a general consumer that they're handy
