Anyway heres the write up:

I BOUGHT THESE IN THE SUMMER OF 1984, FROM A SMALL SPORTING GOODS STORE IN LOS ANGELES. THESE SUPERSTAR 1s ARE AN EXTREMELY RARE DEVELOPMENT OF THE REGULAR SUPERSTARS MADE AT THE TIME. FIRST OF ALL, THE STRIPES AND BACK LABEL ARE MADE OF AN IMITATION MAROON LIZARD OR SNAKESKIN. SECOND, THE TONGUE ON THESE IS NOT THE REGULAR WHITE RUBBER WITH THE ADIDAS RECTANGULAR LOGO WITH "LA MARQUE AUX 3 BANDES/ MADE IN FRANCE". INSTEAD, IS A WHITE POLYESTER TYPE FABRIC LINED WITH FOAM, WITH A FABRIC TAB ON TOP WITH A GOLDEN ADIDAS LOGO, STATING "MADE IN FRANCE". THESE ARE THE ONLY SUPERSTARS MADE LIKE THIS I'VE SEEN, EVER. THEY WERE A SPECIAL ORDER THAT WAS NEVER FULLY CARRIED OUT. SO A VERY FEW WERE MADE, AND ADIDAS TRIED TO DISTRIBUTE WHAT WAS LEFT AS A SPECIAL EDITION. THE BIG CHAINS DIDN'T WANT A MODEL WITH ONLY SCATTERED SIZES AVAILABLE, SO THEY WENT TO A FEW SMALL STORES, WHERE MODEL CONSISTENCY WAS NOT IMPORTANT. THAT'S WHERE I GOT THESE.

NOW ABOUT THE SHOES: BEING OF THE SERIES THAT WAS MADE IN FRANCE, THE LEATHER IS THICK, STURDY, AND IN GOOD SHAPE (TOTALLY DIFFERENT FROM THE CRAPPY TAIWANESE REPROS). THE LITTLE SCUFFS ARE NOT BRUISES TO THE LEATHER, AND SHOULD COME OUT WITH SOME CLEAR POLISH.

THE INSOLES ARE THE LEATHER ONES TYPICAL OF FRENCH-MADE SUPERSTARS, AND IN GOOD SHAPE.THE SHOES ARE A SIZE 12.

THE REPTILE WANNABE STRIPES AND HEEL TABS ARE IN PRETTY GOOD CONDITION FOR THEIR AGE, WITH PARTS WORN OFF FROM HARD PLAY.

THE FOAM IN THE TONGUE HAS DRIED OUT, AND HAS BASICALLY DISINTEGRATED. IT COULD BE EASILY REFURBISHED BY A SHOE SPECIALIST, IF YOU LIKE IT STICKING OUT, OR JUST LEFT AS IS.

THE SHELLTOES, ROUNDER AND HIGHER THAN ON LATER PRODUCTIONS HAVE YELLOWED AS HAVE THE SOLES, AND PART HAS BEEN RIPPED OUT FROM THE RIGHT FOOT. THIS DOESN'T SHOW VERY MUCH, THOUGH, WITH THE LACES ON.

Sorry for the caps but i couldn't be arsed to type everything out that i copied from ebay! Laughing btw - it isn't my auction - just wanted to give you the heads up Wink

The bay is here!

As those "made in france" maroon snakeskin ended up going for £140, i thought you might want to keep your eyes on these size 12 "made in france" - just incase they go for bargain money...
