been listening to the sirius early '90s station and they play a bit of prodigy from that era. doesn't really hold up that well - especially 'Smack My Bitch Up', which to my 35 year old ears sounds offensive.

i did quite like them back in the day, though.

Saw them in Ireland ages ago...really good live....I think back in the day, every raver used to look forward to a new tune by the Prodigy..now though its sounds dated(probably because it IS!).Most of the rave stuff, right from LFO,Altern8,GTO,Spiral tribe etc sounds dated...in fact, dance music moves forward so quickly that last years stuff sounds old..Liam from prodigy did a mix cd of old hiphop and punk called dirtchamber sessions..thats good

I remember dirtchamber, quality stuff. Been hoping to cop tickets to go and see the prodigy sometime but I can't find them outside festivals and I like em, but not £300 like em

Yeah I liked The Prodigy, although AONO, was probably the lousiest CD ever.
As I mentioned in "What you listening to" last week I was listening to FOTL and that still sounds great 11 years later especially "Smack My Bitch Up" which still sounds great even now (& I'm nearly 37, Zwer) loved the video as much if not more!
I saw The Prodigy for the first time live in '91 at Tiffany's nightclub in Gt Yarmouth, when Keith was just a dancer!!

Anyone ever listen to the solo stuff?
"Hells Kitchen" by Maxim
"Beyond Any Reasonable Doubt" by FlightCrank (Leeroy Thornhill)
or "Device1" by Flint (never officially released but I'm sure it can be found on the 'net somewhere!)

Never really rated them ( and yes, I was a "raver").
Always thought they were a bit commercial.
Saw a photograph of them from about two years before they became famous and they looked like a New Romantics band !

Saw them in Edinburgh a couple of years ago, always quite liked them but never a huge fan, but I really enjoyed the gig, was down the front and it was mental. Lost a trainer, thankfully not a Superstar! Wasn't much fun getting home mind, stupid gravel.

It was fuckin' obvious that that cunt was gonnae fuck some cunt.

I wouldn't say "hardcore" fan, but I do like them quite a bit. Got the first three albums, saw them at Brixton on the Fat Of The Land tour, which was quality!
Did you know that they sampled other peoples music? I know, I was as shocked as you must be right now!!!Laughing

Always good to blast out a bit of "Voodoo People" now and then to help clear the cobwebs away, remind you that you're not really getting old, it just seems that way some times.

Yeah i like them a lot and have to say that Liam Howlett is a mighty fine DJ/Producer. I saw them live at V97 and they rocked the festival big time. Im still waiting for a Dirtchamber Vol II session but i suspect that it wont happen, but the first one is awesome and a must have for any one who likes their hip-hop.
I remember Your Love/Charly being huge in the clubs where i went back in the day , i dont like everything that they have done but they certainly have made some stonking tunes along the way when Shahin Badar's vocal kicks in for Smack my Bitch Up the hairs always go up on my neck! Pretty cool vid for this tune too banned in lots of places cos its a tad rude but has a neat twist at the end!
It would seem now that Pendulum have taken over where the Prodigy have left off.
