Ello you orrible lot.
Just wondering if you have any sure-fire recipes for cleaning suede as some of mine are looking quite tragic, which is pissing me off.
Please help mmmeeeeeeeeeeeee!
I've got a couple of pairs of suedes that are in dire need of a good clean, and I've tried a coupla things but nothings really worked. I thin the only sure-fire way to have clean suedes is to never get them dirty?

I've tried toothpaste and it smudged stuff more than cleaned it? What's the recommended method for toothpaste?

Have you tried a suede brush? or Kiwi do a Suede/Nubuck cleaner.
Not guaranteed to work but worth a try.
I have an extra pair of the Project Playground 35ths, they are nubuck, and I get them filthy, than clean with suede and nubuck cleaner spray, a brush and a block that is an eraser type thing made fro cleaning both Suede and Nubuck. Works like a charm
Hold them over a boiling kettle - but obviously watch your fingers - then use a soft nail brush to remove the crap and stains - then let them dry naturally - stuff them with DRY newspaper to help them dry.
After all your hard work give them a good spray with suede and leather protector - building it up in layers, next time they wont get so dirty.
"IF THE SHOE FITS - BUY IT IN EVERY COLOUR!!!!!"
Goto your local hardware store or tool shop and get yourself a sparkplug brush. They usually look like a toothbrush, but they have a wooden handle and fine brass bristles. Tough enough to do the job, but not so rough that it'll fuck them up. That and the suede/nubuck cleaner from Kiwi as mentioned by MrSS.
I managed to get a 5 year old stain of motor oil out of the toe of a pair of tan suede kicks using this.

Cheers guys
I'll deliberate, then try any or all of your methods on a crusty pair of R5's and let you know.
